Air filter housing and air intake duct – removal and installation

Air intake duct

1. Loosen the hose clamps and remove the air intake duct (see illustration).

8.1 To remove the air intake duct, loosen the hose clamps at each end and disconnect the duct from the air filter housing and the air resonator box

2. Inspect the condition of the air intake duct. Look for cracks, tears, deterioration and other damage. If the air intake duct is dam­aged in any way, replace it.

3. Installation is the reverse of removal.

4. Remove the air intake duct (see Step 1).

5. Grasp the air filter housing firmly and lift it straight up (see illustration). The air filter housing is secured to the vehicle by grom­mets that fit onto locator pins.

6. Inspect the condition of the four mounting grommets. If they’re cracked, torn, deteriorated or otherwise damaged, replace them.

7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
