Intercooler – removal and installation
Warning: The air conditioning system is under high pressure – have a dealer service department or service station evacuate the system and recover the refrigerant before disconnecting any of the hoses or fittings.
1. Have the air conditioning system discharged by an automotive air conditioning technician (see Warning above).
2. On 2011 and later models, remove the grille (see Body).
3. Remove the air conditioning condenser (see Cooling, heating and air conditioning systems).
4. Place a drain pan beneath it, then disconnect the remove the automatic transmission cooler lines (if so equipped). Plug the openings to prevent contamination. Remove the transmission cooler.
5. Disconnect the two air hoses from the intercooler.
6. Remove the intercooler mounting bolts, then rotate it to remove it from the vehicle.
7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
8. Have the air conditioning system evacuated, recharged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
