Coolant reservoir – removal and installation
Warning: Wait until the engine is completely cool before beginning this procedure.
Note: All models are equipped with a coolant reservoir in the engine compartment (see Tune-up and routine maintenance for location). These systems incorporate the radiator cap on top of the radiator to create pressure, and the coolant reservoir stores excess coolant that is transferred through the overflow hose.
1. On gasoline engines, remove the grille (see Body).
2. Disconnect the hose from the coolant reservoir.
3. Remove the coolant reservoir. Note: On gasoline engines, pull the reservoir upward to disengage it.
4. Installation is the reverse of removal.
5. Add coolant to the reservoir as necessary (see Tune-up and routine maintenance).
