Rear axleshaft bearing (semi-floating axle) – replacement

1. Remove the axleshaft (Rear axleshaft – removal and installation) and the oil seal (Rear axleshaft oil seal (semi-floating axle) – replacement).

2. A bearing puller which grips the bearing from behind will be required for this job (see illustration). Extract the bearing from the axle housing.

3. Clean out the bearing recess and drive in the new bearing with a bearing driver. Make sure the bearing is tapped in to the full depth of the recess.

4. Install a new oil seal (Rear axleshaft oil seal (semi-floating axle) – replacement), then install the axleshaft (Rear axleshaft – removal and installation).
