Driveshaft center support bearing – removal and installation

1. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands.

2. Remove the driveshaft assembly (Driveshaft(s) – removal and installation). Mark the relationship of the front portion of the driveshaft to the rear portion of the driveshaft.

3. Loosen the slip-joint boot clamp and pull back the boot on the front of the rear driveshaft.

4. Pull the rear driveshaft out of the center bearing.

5. Take the front driveshaft and center bear-ing to an automotive machine shop and have the old bearing pressed off and a new bearing pressed on.

6. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure the match marks line up so the driveshaft is properly phased.
