Daytime Running Lights (DRL) – general information
Canadian models are equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRL). The DRL system illuminates the headlights whenever the engine is running and the parking brake is disengaged. The DRL system provides reduced power to the headlights so that they won’t be too bright for daytime use and it prolongs the headlight bulbs’ service life. It does this by modulating the pulse-width of the power to the headlights. The duration and interval of these power pulses is programmed into the Front Control Module (FCM), which is located on the instrument cluster. If you want to alter the pulse-width, you must have it done by a dealer service department.
