Bumpers – removal and installation
Front bumper
1. Front bumpers on all models are composed of a plastic or chrome steel fascia, or exterior skin, and a structural beam.
2. Remove the two push-pins from each end of the bumper fascia to separate it from the inner wheel well. Move the inner wheel well out of the way slightly.
3. Remove the screws from each end of the bumper fascia.
4. On sport models, remove the fasteners from the bottom of the bumper fascia.
5. Remove the grille (Radiator grille – removal and installation).
6. Use a small screwdriver to detach the top clips from the bumper fascia, then remove it (see illustrations).

13.6b … then release the center of the fascia and lift it off
13.6c Remove the plastic panel for access to the bumper bolts
7. Mark the position of the bumper brackets to the frame rail, or the bumper-to-bracket nuts. Unplug the electrical connectors to the fog lights, if equipped.
8. With an assistant supporting the bumper, remove the nuts/bolts retaining the bumper to the frame rails, or the nuts retaining the bumper to the brackets.
9. Detach the bumper from the frame rails or brackets.
10. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Rear bumper
11. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands.
12. Remove the license plate and the bumper mounting bolts behind it (see illustration).

13. Unplug any electrical connectors that interfere with bumper removal.
14. With an assistant or a secure jack supporting the bumper, remove the bolts retaining the bumper brackets to the frame rails (see illustration).
13.14 The bumper can either be detached from the mounting brackets, or the mounting brackets can be removed along with the bumper by detaching the brackets from the frame
